Cook this quick and easy dish in a jiffy. Spicy, tangy & very very tasty!
Spicy Pan Fried Baby Potatoes
- Baby Potatoes – 1/2 kg
- Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
- Vegetable oil/Olive oil- 4-5 tbsp
- Coriander leaves – for garnish (optional)
For the marinade
- Yogurt – 3-4 tbsp
- Tomato ketchup- 1/2 cup
- Ginger paste- 1 tsp
- Garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Black pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
- Lemon juice of 1/2 lemon
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Sugar- 3/4 tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Kashmiri chilli powder – 1/2 tsp (optional)
- Vegetable oil/Olive oil- 1 tbsp
Wash, boil & peel the baby potatoes.In a bowl add baby potatoes & all the ingredients mentioned for marinade. Mix well & marinade for 3-4 hours (minimum). You can keep this bowl in refrigerator. Heat oil in a frying pan (nonstick preferably). Tamper with cumin seeds. Add the marinated
baby potatoes, along with the marination. Fry on medium high flame for 12-15 minutes or till all the marinade dried up.
Garnish with some freshly chopped coriander leaves.
Serve immediately. You can have this with dal & rice or puri. This dish is great as starter also.
Note: Care should be taken not to burn the masala while frying. Stir gently, otherwise the potatoes may break.
