Cabbage Fritters/Bandhakopir Pokora
Ingredients
- Cabbage- 4 cups (shredded)
- Paotato- 1 medium size (fully boiled & mashed)
- Fresh coriander leaves- 1/4 cup (chopped)
- Green chilies- 2/3 chopped
- Garlic paste- 1 tsp
- Ginger paste- 1/2 tsp
- Sugar- 1 tsp
- Dry roasted Cumin seed powder- 1 1/2 tsp (Dry fry the cumin seeds in medium flame, till fragrant, don’t let them burn, grind until fine in a blender)
- Salt
- Aamchur powder- 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper powder- 3/4 tsp
- Gram flour/besan- 1 handful
- Rice Flour- 1 handful
- Vegetable oil for frying
Method
In a deep bottomed pan boil the shredded cabbages with enough water, give them just one quick boil, no need to boil fully. Pour the boiled cabbages on a large strainer & drain off the water. In a bowl add mashed potato, cabbages & rest of the ingredients. Mix well with hand. Heat oil in a deep frying pan and drop small portions of the batter into the oil. Fry them until golden brown in color, drain on kitchen towel.
Serve immediately with any sauce of your choice & don’t forget to pair this with a cup of hot tea. Enjoy! 🙂
