Chilli Paneer (Restaurant style)
- Paneer/Cottage cheese- 200g (cut into cubes)
- Red bell paper- 1 medium sized, I used ½ of this (cut into cubes)
- Green Bell paper- 1 medium sized, I used ½ of this (cut into cubes)
- Garlic- 1 tbsp (chopped)
- Ginger paste- 1 tsp
- Green chillies- 4 (chopped)
- Onion- 1 medium sized (cut into cubes)
- Green onion- 1 chopped (only the green part)
- Tomato sauce- 2 tbsp
- Green chilli sauce- 1 tbsp
- Soya sauce- 1 tsp
- Corn flour- 2 tbsp
- Sugar- 1 ½ tsp
- Vegetable oil
Mix the paneer cubes with 1 tbsp corn flour, keep aside. Heat 4 tbsp oil in a deep non-stick frying pan. On medium flame fry the paneer cubes until golden, drain on paper towel. Mix 1 tbsp corn flour with ¾ cup water, keep aside. In the remaining oil fry onion and bell papers on high flame for 2 minutes. Take out and keep aside.
Add 2 tbsp oil in the frying pan. Add chopped garlic, fry quickly on high flame until light brown in color. Lower the flame, add tomato, chilli, soya sauce and ginger paste. Mix well. Add corn flour mixture, salt, chopped green chillies and sugar. Mix well and give this a quick boil on high flame. Keep stirring. Lower the flame, add paneer cubes. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Keep stirring in between. Add Fried onion and bell papers along with chopped green onions. Mix and cook on medium high flame for a minute. Remove from heat. Your ‘Chilli Paneer’ is done. Garnish with some chopped green onions.
Serve hot with Chinese fried rice or Noodles.
