Oreo Dark Chocolate Strawberry Tart
For the tart base
- Oreo Cookies/Biscuits- 150gm + 50gm packs
- Unsalted butter- 4 tbsp (melted)
For the dark chocolate ganache
- Fresh Cream- 200 ml (I used Amul’s)
- Dark Chocolate (roughly chopped) – ½ cup hipped
For decorating on top
- Chocolate chips- for sprinkling
- Fresh Strawberries- 14
Making the tart base
For the base grind oreo cookies using a mixer/grinder, until a fine mixture forms. Now add the melted butter and grind further until everything incorporated well. Grease the tart tin with butter. Pour the biscuit mixture on your 20 cm loose bottomed tart tin. Now spread this mixture throughout the tart tin using your fingers. Give gentle pressure and press the biscuit mixture smoothly. Try to make an even surface. Keep the tart pan for 20 minutes in the refrigerator.
Making the ganache
Discard the watery part first from your fresh cream carton. Add the cream in a bowl. On low heat stir until hot, no need to boil the cream. Remove from heat, add chopped dark chocolate. Wait for 10 minutes. Mix and stir well, until a lump free smooth ganache forms.
Making the tart
Take out the tart tin from refrigerator. Pour the ganache on the tart shell. Place the strawberries on top of the ganache. Sprinkle some chocolate chips. Keep this in refrigerator for next 5-6 hours or overnight. This dessert will set well within this time.
