Stove top Granola

I’ve made baked granola many times before. But making them on stove top saves a lot of time, and I liked the process very much. The recipe was adapted from here. You need only a few ingredients, and 1 jar of Granola will be ready in no time. This Stove top Granola is very filling, snack with it, add milk and have it for breakfast, while baking muffins sprinkle it on top of them, options are endless. Do try, and share your experience with me. 🙂

Ingredients

  • 2 cups- Rolled Oats
  • 3 tbsp- Melted butter (read note)
  • 2 tbsp- Sunflower seeds
  • ¼ cup- Honey
  • 2/3 cup- Dry fruits (I used a mix of raisins and currants)

Instructions

  1. Mix melted butter and honey in a bowl, keep aside.

  2. In a nonstick frying pan, dry roast rolled oats and sunflower seeds over medium heat until it changes the colour to one shade darker.

  3. Care should be taken not to over brown the oats. Now add honey+butter mixture into it. Mix well, so that oats get coated completely with the liquid.

  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes over low heat, it will look pale golden brown in colour.

  5. Remove from the heat and let the mixture cooled completely in the pan itself.

  6. After cooling, the granola will appear chunky, don’t worry it’s normal. Break the mixture by using your fingers, add in dry fruits, and mix well. Store the granola in an airtight container, enjoy!

Recipe Notes

  • Use any dry fruits of your choice to make this.
  • You can use Peanut butter to make a vegan version of it.
