Baked these beauties last Sunday. Best Brownies I’ve ever made till date.

Fudge Brownies

Ingredients

  • Cocoa powder- ¾ cup
  • Granulated sugar- 1 2/3 cup
  • Butter- ¾ cup/ 1½ stick (I used Amul Butter. It was in room temperature.)
  • Water- 2 tbsp
  • Eggs- 2
  • Vanilla extract- 2 tsp
  • All-purpose flour- 1 1/3 cup
  • Milk- 2/3 cup+2/3 cup
  • Baking powder- ½ tsp
  • Salt- ¼ tsp
  • Chocolate chips/ coarsely chopped dark chocolate- ½ cup

Method

You need 3 bowls. Mix eggs with sugar in one bowl, add vanilla extract. Mix & keep aside. Mix flour, salt & baking powder in another bowl. Now add butter, cocoa powder in the third bowl. Place this bowl on a larger bowl of lukewarm water. Mix gently, add milk into this, mix again. Now add this mixture & the egg-sugar mixture to the flour mix. Blend well. No need to over beating a good lump free mix is enough for brownies. Now add half of the chopped chocolate or chocolate chips into this. Mix gently. Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Pour the batter into the greased pan. Sprinkle the top with remaining chocolate chips or chopped chocolate. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with few moist crumbs. Cool the baked brownies completely in the pan itself and then run a sharp knife around the edges of the pan. Cut into squares after it is fully cool.

These Brownies will be fudgy, gooey & mind blowing chocolaty. Lick the baking pan after slicing…;)

  1. One is bound to get confused with a zillion recipes available online and otherwise (at least an amateur baker like me did) in search of this ONE recipe that would guarantee close to perfect taste and texture. If this has happened to you too, do give this a try- I followed the recipe to the t and oh so yummy were the fudge brownies, that I was MADE to bake 4 batches by friends and family in 2 days 🙂 Like her food photographs, Chandrima’s recipes include small details that make all the difference! Thank you for this blog Chandrima! (A very happy follower) 🙂
