These kid-friendly ‘Gems Ladoos’ are nothing, but healthy date and almond balls coated with crushed Gems. We often face problems to make our kids eat real food these days, so I made something special for them which are not only look attractive but also very delicious in taste. You don’t need to cook or bake these ladoos. With regular ingredients at home these colourful ladoos can be prepared within no time.
- Almonds- 1 cup
- Whole pitted dates- 15 (deseed dates, keep aside)
- Cadbury gems- for rolling (use your mortar pestle to break the gems roughly)
- Cocoa powder – 2/3 cup
- Honey- 1 tbsp
- Water- 2-3 tbsp
In a food processor/mixer grind almonds till a coarse powder forms. Add dates, honey, water, cocoa powder into this. Grind again till a sticky mixture forms. The mixture should look coarse, lumpy. If you want to form a small ball/ladoo out of this mixture, it will hold the shape. Don’t add extra water unnecessarily, otherwise everything will be messed up. Start making lemon sized balls/ladoos from the mixture using your fingers and palms. Then roll them into crushed gems. Keep the ladoos in an air-tight container and store in the refrigerator.
Your healthy Gems Ladoos are ready. Serve and make your kid happy.
This can be made with M&M too.
