II was 3 years old when my maternal uncle married my Christian aunt. As a Hindu boy marrying a Christian girl, their union created quite a buzz within the family. From that point on, Christmas celebrations became a cherished tradition in our family.
We are a large family on my mother’s side, and my aunt is a fantastic baker. She used to make delicious fruit cakes for us, and as children, my brother, my cousins, and I eagerly awaited the chance to enjoy the cake each year.
As I grew older, the responsibility of decorating the Christmas tree was handed over to me. My aunt always told me that I had a talent for decorating the best Christmas tree in town. I put my heart into it every time, striving to create something special.
Now, looking back, the Christmas tree, the fruit cake, and the family gatherings are wonderful memories that remind me of those joyful days.
So I created this small Christmas tree to make myself happy. Santa Claus will be coming to town very soon! 🙂

Here is a complete tutorial on how to make the Christmas tree, designed for you and your child to enjoy together.
Things what you need.
- 1 sheet of Mount Board, or the semi hard packaging sheet of a shirt (I used this. Usually I don’t through away many things, I keep collecting some of them for making crafts)
- Scissor
- Stapler
- Compass geometry tool
- Fevicol
- Quilling papers
- Decorative beads
1.

2.

3. Draw a circle on the board.

4. Cut the circle with scissor.

5. Cut half of the circle pointing towards the center.

6. Shape the circle into a ‘cone’ & close with stapler.

7. Paint with acrylic color (use acrylic color for this stage, don’t use water color, else it will mix up when you apply fevicol). After this step, use you creativity to decorate the Christmas tree. Do whatever you like. Let your imagination fly. 🙂

8. I decorated my Christmas tree with quilling papers and decorative beads. Lastly I made a blue star with the fat strip of quilling paper. Sorry no tutorial for the star, cause I just kept on folding the blue paper strip and suddenly the star formed!
