Tomato Basil Pasta

This Tomato Basil Pasta recipe is easy to cook, deliciously flavourful, and can be whipped up in minutes. It's a good option for a quick weeknight dinner for the entire family.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup- Pasta
  • 3 tbsp- Olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder to taste
  • Tomato puree of 4 medium-sized tomatoes (read note)
  • A few fresh Basil leaves (read note)
  • 10 cloves- Garlic (chopped)
  • 1 tsp- Chilli flakes
  • ¼ cup and for garnishing- Grated Cheese
  • ¼ cup- Baby corn (sliced)
  • 2- Green onion (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Cook 1 cup raw Pasta by following the package instructions, drain and keep aside.

  2. Heat oil in a frypan. Add the chopped garlic, sauté for a few seconds. Next to add the chilli flakes, and give it a quick mix.

  3. Add tomato puree, salt, black pepper powder, and chopped basil leaves, mix well and cook for 2 minutes over medium heat.

  4. Add the grated cheese, mix well.

  5. Next to add the vegetables (read notes) and boiled pasta, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes over medium heat.

  6. Serve immediately with some grated cheese on top, enjoy!

Recipe Notes

  • You can use different vegetables in this recipe such as Olives, French beans, Carrots, Bell peppers, etc.
  • Store-brought tomato puree would make this Pasta dish sour, always use fresh tomato puree for this recipe.
  • If you don’t have fresh basil leaves, use the dried ones.
