No-Yeast Mayonnaise Quick Bread
A soft & tasty Quick-Bread made without yeast, the not so secret ingredient is Mayonnaise here. Make this No-Yeast Mayonnaise Quick Bread under 40 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1½ cups- All-purpose flour/Maida
- 1 cup / 200ml- Milk
- 1tsp- Baking powder
- ½ tsp- Baking soda
- ¼ cup- Mayonnaise (read note)
- 1 tbsp- Caster sugar/White or Brown powdered sugar
Instructions
-
Before I start all the ingredients were at room temperature.
-
Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Prepare a 7.5” loaf pan by greasing with oil and place a piece of baking paper at the bottom of the pan.
-
In a bowl sift all the dry ingredients.
-
Now add Mayonnaise and Milk into the same bowl.
-
Whisk well, until a lump-free, thick batter forms.
-
Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
-
Tap the loaf pan gently on the kitchen counter a couple of times to release the air bubbles. Bake for 35 minutes or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
-
Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes and then run a sharp knife around the edges of the pan and carefully remove the bread. Turn onto a cooling rack and leave there until cools completely.
-
When cooled, slice, slather with butter or your favourite jam.
-
You can toast the bread slices as well, enjoy!
Recipe Notes
Apart from Eggless mayonnaise, you can also use mayonnaise which has egg in it for this bread recipe.
Did you use store brought Mayonnaise or made it at home?
Hi Juhi, I’ve used store-bought eggless Mayonnaise for this recipe, but you can use homemade Mayonnaise also.
Was looking for such a recipe as I’m simply not getting yeast! Will try this for sure!
Hi Pooja, I hope you’ll enjoy baking it. 🙂
Hi Chandrima,
How are you, tried this today..looks good do far. Do we allow the bread to cool inside the warm oven once done or bring it out and cool on a wire rack..it did shrink a little after I got it out..
Hi Tanu,
I’m glad to hear that you’ve tried the recipe. The bread need not be kept in the oven after baking. Transfer the bread onto the cooling rack, and leave there until completely cooled. Every oven acts in a different way, that might be the reason for the shrinking, otherwise, there might be issues with the rising agents (baking powder, baking soda).
